Exeter Dog Park - Community Consultation
The Exeter Village Association is conducting a community consultation on the proposed dog park.
This consultation is open to EVA members, residents of Exeter and nearby areas, visitors who use local parks, and those who have signed the petition.
Our aim is to gather broad and representative feedback before progressing the proposal to Council.
About the Project
The proposed dog park is being explored as a community-led initiative to create a safe, enclosed space for dogs to exercise off-leash.
This consultation is designed to ensure that all interested groups - including EVA members, the wider community, and petition signers - have access to the project information and an opportunity to share their views.
Before any approach is made to council, EVA is gathering community feedback to understand levels of support, identify concerns, and guide next steps.

The Dog Park item was discussed at the EVA Members Meeting. Feedback from members was received and the Community consultation planning phase commenced.
-
Update shared via email. As part of EVA’s vision for the Village Green, three members of our committee - Rhondda Vanzella, Brian Wood and Stephen Blackman - met with Wingecarribee Council representatives for a walk-through of the site.
That visit highlighted the need to update the Council’s Plan of Management, which was last completed in 2010. Our Park Committee is now working closely with Council to make that happen.
We’ve also arranged for a quote for the fencing and are lining up meetings with a plumber, electrician, and arborist to provide shaded seating under the magnificent oak tree. Once the community consultation and assessments are complete, the EVA Committee will submit a formal proposal to Council for approval. After that, the next big stage will be securing grants and funding to bring the project to life.
